"TLDR: Excellent garage with a skilled mechanic who has decades of experience. Easy to contact by phone and reasonably priced! Always transparent about the costs and consults if something needs to be repaired. In early 2020, I was looking for a new car on a small budget, and that is how I ended up at J. Oudshoorn Automobielen. After a smooth handover, I had the car serviced here, and I could always count on René Oudshoorn, the owner, whenever problems arose; he always responded quickly over the phone! For instance, after a few years of carefree use of the car, a cooling hose had come loose (a clamp had become stiff after more than 20 years), causing the engine to break down and the car to stop running. Within no time, he had picked up the broken car and subsequently repaired the engine provisionally for a good price. He was always transparent about the costs and what needed to be replaced, and would then ask if that was okay. To this day, my car is still being serviced at Oudshoorn Automobielen, and after a recent MOT, I felt it was time to write a positive review. For instance, during an MOT, he also checks points that aren't required for the inspection, such as whether your brake pads are still good for another year or if the oil and oil filter need replacing. That is sometimes different at other garages, such as at a Volvo dealer where tires with only canvas left were literally fitted to a car, or you get surprised because your brakes aren't working due to worn-out brake pads. So all in all, if you are looking for a skilled mechanic with decades of experience who repairs your car for a reasonable price, I can certainly recommend J. Oudshoorn Automobielen, so give him a call soon! He also often has good cars for sale at a nice price!"
