A few weeks ago, the timing chain on my wife's BMW 1 Series started making a noisy noise, and shortly after, it failed. On the recommendation of the Kwikfit branch, where we've received excellent service for years, we were referred to MRE Autoservice. There, we were reassured and received excellent service for a fraction of the price a local dealer would charge. Rody Ekkebos is not only knowledgeable, but also friendly and honest. That can't be said of all businesses. I highly recommend him if you want something properly repaired at a fair price. Rody, thank you very much for the excellent service you provided, and we will definitely use your services again.

I took my Fiat Grande Punto T-Jet to MRE Autoservice in Den Helder because the clutch pedal was sticking. Without any inspection or diagnosis, the owner immediately suggested replacing everything: clutch, pressure plate, cylinders, everything at once. When I asked what exactly was broken and how much it would cost, I got no answer, only vague comments like, "It would be a shame if you'd break down again in two months." Because there was no clear explanation, I decided not to have my car repaired there. From that moment on, the communication deteriorated. When I politely asked if he could leave the key unattended in the car, I literally got this response: "Listen, don't be so pushy. I'm not here. I'll ask someone to put the key in the car." After that, my phone went unanswered, and messages were ignored. I had arranged a trailer myself and had to drive three hours to pick up my car. When I arrived, my car wasn't even at his garage, but parked further down among several scrap cars, out of camera surveillance. To my astonishment, all the doors and the trunk were wide open, and the original key was unattended in the ignition. Anyone could have driven off with it. This was extremely negligent and completely disrespectful to me as a customer. I had explicitly stated beforehand that this was absolutely not my intention. The entire situation was captured in photos and videos. Never again will I use MRE Autoservice. I wouldn't wish this on anyone.

I've been to this company/Rody several times. They were very helpful, even on a Sunday when they were actually closed. Rody even came to my house with a portable battery jump starter to jump-start my car, free of charge! He didn't charge anything, even though I'd bought my car three weeks earlier in Alkmaar from a completely different company. To be honest, I don't know any other company that does that "just like that." I recently had a major service, and that went smoothly too. The price-to-quality ratio is excellent! I saved €100 at Rody's than at the cheapest garage I found. It was even €225 less than the most expensive. I don't really have any negatives and am very satisfied. I have to say that I've read the reviews here and don't recognize any negative experiences at all. For example: I had an accident with my previous car. The windshield was broken, and the door wouldn't close. I called MRE, on a Sunday! They were able to come right away. Rody removed the windshield and made sure the door could close again without any leaks (it was raining like crazy that day, and the door had really blown apart). It cost him a crate of beer. And he really took a while. I know Rody as a very reasonable and nice guy. Over the years, I've had several garages in Den Helder, and MRE is more than comfortable for me.

I bought used brake calipers from MRE. Then I asked if the calipers were in good condition and weren't stuck. "Yes, these were taken from under a car, and they're completely in order." Once I got them home, I immediately noticed that one cylinder was stuck. Thank you. Worthless.
