The guys at Cultcars know how to find the real gems and what really matters when buying a modern classic car. It all started with two tips from friends in the 205-309 club on Monday afternoon. I was down after a double hernia operation, and Martijn showed me the car in detail via an extensive video call. No question was too silly. The next morning, we called again and decided to buy the car. I couldn't drive, so a friend picked up the car from Cultcars. They also threw a little party there with an unveiling and a bottle of champagne. I've been working in the automotive industry for 30 years, and how great it is to feel like a true customer when you buy a car yourself instead of being the seller. Everything was perfectly organized: from the route to the refreshments along the way. We enjoyed the beautiful weather, the nostalgic 2CVs, and the excellent organization. "A day of driving an Alfa Romeo Giulia ti as a birthday present—how much fun would that be? Especially if it's your favorite classic. And even though it was over 30 degrees Celsius, the Alfa was completely unaffected; just start it smoothly, the characteristic engine note is clearly present, windows down, and off we go into the hills. It takes some getting used to at first, because the steering, shifting, and braking are excellent, though a bit heavier than in your modern car. Once the engine is properly warmed up, it becomes clear that this 53-year-old machine can handle all the hills and bends you throw at it. A super fun experience and definitely worth repeating!"
