"I hesitated about posting this review, given the rather aggressive/negative way Cars4u approaches low reviews. However, I decided to do it anyway. A few weeks ago, I bought a car here with a problem (a knock in the engine). I'd been in frequent contact with the seller beforehand via WhatsApp and email, and it went smoothly. Cars4u repeatedly emphasized that they hadn't opened the engine and that the previous buyer had returned within half an hour of the sale with the knock. The sale was subsequently reversed, and the car (according to Cars4u) was put on the lot. Because they didn't have time, it had never been inspected. So it could have been better, or worse. That was a gamble we were willing to take (partly due to Cars4u's story). We picked up the car with a cart and a few weeks later put it on the lift at the dealership (we were there ourselves). It was immediately apparent that the engine cover had already been removed. Bolts were missing and some had been unscrewed, causing parts of the engine block to break off. (The fracture surface was completely clean, so it had recently been repaired.) When removing the crankcase, a connecting rod bearing was completely missing and the crankshaft was scored. The oil was completely clean; no metal particles were found in the oil or crankcase. It was very clear to us and the mechanic that the engine had already been opened. The connecting rod bearing in question was removed, and given the damage, the engine was quickly (half-bakedly) reassembled. Oil was added and the car was sold. It turns out the car wasn't taken back that same day, but a week later. This explains it for us. During that week, they opened the engine and realized it was a lost cause. The sad thing is that Cars4u could have simply been honest. Instead, they simply lied, and their problem is now my problem. A real shame. It's a nice shop and a welcoming owner, but not worthy of trust. (Apparently, Cars4u knew this was coming. While preparing the paperwork, they casually mentioned that sometimes customers leave a negative review because they buy a car with a problem and it turns out to be disappointing. At the time, I thought it was strange to just say that, but I understand why now.)"

"Cars4U I recently bought a beautiful 1992 Mercedes S-Class from Cars4U. From the very first moment, I received a clear and honest explanation about the car. Although the car has a few minor issues due to its age, these were clearly mentioned beforehand. Mechanically, however, the car is in excellent condition, exactly as the salesperson had told me. I particularly appreciated the open and transparent communication. They took the time to answer my questions, and I felt like they truly listened to the customer. This is the first car I've bought from Cars4U, and I can say that I'm very satisfied with both the car and the service. In short: a reliable, knowledgeable company where you can feel confident buying a car. I now enjoy driving my Mercedes!"
